How to check your Codex reset time
Read the timer in /status
Run /status in an active Codex CLI session or open the Codex Usage settings. Read the percentage and reset timestamp returned for your account. LimitReset cannot see or calculate that private value.
Why the five-hour window differs from a public reset
Personal usage and global events are separate
A scheduled account window can recover on its own schedule. A global reset is a separate public event and may be applied to a broad group after an incident, milestone, or product change. One does not prove the other.
What to do when Codex usage runs out
Choose the next action from your account state
The public event ledger is useful when users are asking whether a broad reset was announced. It should not be used as a personal countdown or as a promise that your account will recover at a particular time.
